Kohler is the only manufacture that requires a start up.   Without an authorized Kohler Dealer performing start up the product warranty starts from the date your generator left production at the factory.

All other manufactures do not have any requirements for start up of a new installation.  There are service dealers available if you prefer to have an authorized dealer perform a start up.
