Briggs & Stratton liquid-cooled standby generators supply extra large and luxury homes with emergency power. The 45 kilowatt 76031 can power all your critical home needs along with all the comforts and luxuries of life, while providing you the peace of mind that comes from more than 100 years of Briggs & Stratton experience. Standby home generators are permanent backup power solutions that protect homes and families from power outages. Combined with an automatic transfer switch, whole-house backup generators start and run automatically, even if you are not home.
For reliable emergency power that keeps your home and family during a power outage, trust Briggs & Stratton standby generators to begin supplying power just moments after the power goes out and continue until it comes back on. A four-year, part- and-labor limited warranty rates with the best in the industry.
For reliable and economical standby power, the 76031 includes a GM Vortec, 5.0 liter, 8-cylinder engine to turn the generator unit at 1800 RPM. The slower engine speed of these standby generators gives better fuel economy, longer engine life, and quieter operation for a neighbor-friendly installation.
A fully pressurized lubrication system and a controller that constantly monitors engine sensors provides protection from low oil pressure, over-speed, or high-temperature conditions that could damage or destroy the engine.
Liquid-cooled standby generators from Briggs & Stratton are factory configured to run on Natural Gas. During installation, the generators are easily converted to use LP gas (propane). Operating on LP Gas, fuel use on the 76031 runs at about 4.5 gallons per hour at half load. Natural gas use is about 429 cubic feet per hour at half load. Fuel consumption rates are affected by the electrical load and change along with the demand placed on the generator. Altitude and temperature also affect performance and consumption.
This standby home generator supplies up to 45,000 watts of continuous power on both LP gas and on natural gas. The controller regulates engine speed at a constant 1800 RPM to maintain the 60hz frequency. Frequency control combined with voltage regulation allows the generator to supply utility-grade power compatible with computers and other power-sensitive electronics.
Standby generators require automatic transfer switches for independent operation. The Briggs & Stratton model 71036 transfer switch (sold separately) will manage your generator power for the entire house. During an outage, it instructs the generator to start and then switches the main service panel from utility power and onto generator power, all within seconds after the outage occurs.
The optional 71035 Load Control Center (sold separately) will manage up to four priority high demand loads and two air conditioners. Managing high demand loads allows them to run without overloading the generator.
The Air Conditioning Control Modules (ACCM) remember the power requirements of your air conditioners, then only allow the units to start when there is sufficient starting power available. A five minute delay between starts reduces starting power requirements. It all works together to keep your home cool and comfortable in the hottest weather.
Galvanneal steel all-metal enclosures meet fire safety codes and provide a long life of corrosion resistant service, even in the salt air of coastal regions. The 45kW standby generator is about 100 inches wide, 40 inches deep and 42 inches high and mounts on a prepared concrete pad. Most central air conditioners are noisier than the 62db produced by these generators.
