purchased generator 7\7\12 received 7\16\12 didnt get a chance to put together till 7\21 just got done putting tires and oil in. manual says oil level is full when oil is to threads on oil fill hole but i put 1qt in and checked still low added more checked still low sow put 2 qts in was still not up to threads but was over full had to drain some out. finally got everything kosher oil and gas in opened fuel shut off valve turned on idle controll pushed start button fired right up, let idle for a few minutes then turned idle controll off waiting to hear this loud engine but supprisingly is very quite. have not got to try it yet have to find electrician to hook up to house, reason for 4 stars is because of the oil ordeal overall great generator will post another rating when get to use.

Power Outages - Not a worry anymore!

Bought this generator after Hurricane Irene. Runs the entire house - well pump, furnace, 2 refrigerators, TV's, Dishwasher, Washer, Dryer, electric stove ... no problems. I am now the envy of my neighbors. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick and efficient reliable power source to get through their next power outage.

After Hurricane Irene, I was finally able to convince my wife we needed one of these- only issue- electric hot water heater, well pump, electric heat (but a woodstove takes care of that). We needed a generator that had a 50amp outlet. This was the "smaller" one.
We just had our october snow storm w/ leaves still on the trees. It works! We had the majority of our house powered for almost 48 hrs. I thought it was going to be two more days, but this thing was awesome. Starts right up, even my wife thought it was easy.
The extra oil filter, oil, air filter are a nice touch. UPS freight was a pleasure to work with and I was able to get the wheels on working by myself (with the help of some wooden blocks). It's big, really big, but it works.

I purchased this after going thru Hurricane Andrew. Never again- will we go without power! I have used this as my backup & have been thru three other hurricanes- this generator came thru with flying colors!
Without a question- I recommend this generator!
